From February 18 through March 8, the TAC-UK exercise will take place at the Spadeadam range. Eight helicopters and 250 personnel from the RNLAF Defense Helicopter Command will be there to train helicopter operations in electronic warfare.Three Chinooks, three Apaches and two Cougars will fly from the Carlisle Airport to the range at Spadeadam to practice different scenarios and missions.
During the TAC-UK exercise, pilots, helicopter crews and support staff will train in an environment with a high radar threat. The Chinook and Cougar helicopters will try to avoid hostile systems and the Apache attack helicopters will aim to disable the systems.
