Thought I could see artifacts even at this size, investigated the micro-watermarks & found that your sensor is wellllll overdue a clean! Clearly, any cropping-in of the images would result in all kinds of 'flak-bursts' around them. HTH. ;)

Thank you for taking the time to comment. It does however raise a small dilemma. :S Both images were taken in '15 and I might have dug over the sensor since then.
It has prompted me (guilty, as charged ) to add the task to my list ;) Never too late

Thanks troops,

Cleaned the Lenses, front and back; had a go at the sensor; cleaned my glasses and about to wash my hands. Tomorrow looks bright and sunny so off we go?
