As well as doing Axalp, I also stopped by at Payerne Air Base where most of the remaining F-5s are based along with F-18s too.

Payerne differs from Meiringen in that there's a much higher fence surrounding the base that you'd need a ladder to shoot over if you want any kind of background in your photos (mostly anyway), there is a viewing area by the main car park however this was into the sun when I visited, at other times of day the back light isn't so harsh though.

These are taken from the main viewing area, didn't hang around long shooting into the sun in the haze, but I was happy to get one or two that show the nose gear hiked on an F-5.

Round the other side shooting the approach now, lighting was better but the photo opportunities were limited unfortunately. These were all shot over the fence with no ladder.
