Right you are. The dates coincided somewhat:WSINT Class 18A May 21 - June 13, Green Flag 18-08 June 1 - June 15.747woody wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 10:31 pmThey weren't doing Green Flag, they were for WSINT 18-2 (Weapon School Integration), which is the Weapon School end of course graduation exercise. Happens twice a year, June and December. (Green Flag is a close air support exercise that takes place at Ft Irwin, near Barstow).

I was impressed with the variety of aircraft I saw parked out there the two days I went out. Unfortunately I couldn't stay as long as I wanted to see them all fly: CH-47's, Ospreys, Hawkeyes, KC-10s, C-17s, several variants of C-130s (as displayed on ADS-B), FA-18s, and A-10s and F-16s besides those which are based here. Also some smaller aircraft like the U-28A and others I didn't recognize. Of course the normal collection of F-35s, F-22s, and F-15s. It was quite a zoo. I even shot an AN-124 taking off, which I had never seen before; he may have just been making a delivery and not associated with anything else.747woody wrote: ↑Thu Jun 14, 2018 8:40 amGreen Flag is usually one unit, and they usually park in the revetments (currently 14 MO F-15Es from the 391stFS there doing the latest GF). That's one clue, the callsigns are another (RENO, SHARK seem to be the current ones). Sometimes they'll be an E-3 or an E-8 flying out of Nellis with them, and there's often a tanker (usually HORSE 61?) but it doesn't always operate from Nellis, they have been seen operating from McCarran, or from Travis.
