Axalp 2017 - A Carlsberg year (large post)
Axalp 2017 - A Carlsberg year (large post)
Well what can be said about this years trip to the Swiss Alps, trip No 8 for me, over the years cancelled days/shows with never a complete week, but something was afoot this year the forecast was lying, a week of sun, never surely not
Needless to say this would result in something never done before three consecutive hikes over three days, day one 2500ft up over 3.5 miles, day two 3000ft up over approx 3 miles and finally the big one 5000ft up over approx 6 miles from 5-10,000ft, all with very little sleep in-between, to be honest the worst parts coming down.
Still after 8 years finally got the shot I wanted, so came home a happy man.

Superb, best give Paddy a heads up to have a stiff drink close at hand. Shock wave on the PDS F-5 is amazing.
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.

A Carlsberg set of images to match.
Awesome doesn't seem adequate as a statement.
n.b - other alcoholic beverages are also available.

the term "first class" doesn't do your pictures justice, VIP (VERY impressive pictures) is nearer the mark,
an absolute pleasure to scroll through them time and time again, so much detail and clarity,
you were well rewarded for efforts,
2018 calendar material, thanks for posting them.

They look incredible - really fine photography
The Hornet shock wave is classic , I like the small shock wave building up on the canopy.

Insane, probably the best set of shots I've ever seen of the place. Love the inverted shots as they approach the far ridge!
The F5 shots are pretty interesting too, especially the first one with all the light refraction going on and the one banking up with the lake behind where you can see the 2 gun doors that open when the trigger is depressed, not often you see that!
