Great shots, Chris
Seacat: you're in for a treat
The commentary and ground show are equally worthy
Cheers

Great shots, you should be proud of them, is number 5 number upside down for a reason? maybe for the mirror formation
Re: USAF Thunderbirds Arriving RAF Fairford
Thanks SeaCat, Paddyboy and Geoff for looking and your comments. They are much appreciated. To be honest I am not sure why the No5 is on upside down. Sorry.

Re: USAF Thunderbirds Arriving RAF Fairford
5 is upside down because he flies upside down most of the display, it also adds to the mirror formation they perform.

Thank you for that, adimale1981 I did think that was the reason. Once again thanks for the information.

Re: USAF Thunderbirds Arriving RAF Fairford
Great Photographs of the arrivals.
I saw them on the Saturday, which I think the team leader erred on the crowd side of caution. Big thanks for that!
Tired on washed out airshows. There have been so many in the last ten years or so, where the weather hasn't come through.
On the pictures I have of the F-16D on departures day and the great pic above it was wearing number 7.
My pictures on Saturday show it wearing No. 4, the official checklist agrees with this.
Does this mean that the numbers are simply transfers and can change at a moments notice?

Nice shots
Spot on! For example if Thunderbird 1 goes tech during the warm up / crewing up phase of the display by the time he steps to the air spare it will have his number '1' on it and also his name on the jetThe Aging Hippy wrote:Does this mean that the numbers are simply transfers and can change at a moments notice?

Thanks for confirming that Knife 04 Good information, just disillusioned about identification.
Re: USAF Thunderbirds Arriving RAF Fairford
Thanks Adimale1981. thought that may have been the reason for the number 5 upside down, thanks for clarifying
