B1B departs RAF Fairford yesterday, amazing experience and a few damaged ears I would imagine!!

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

A lucky experience it must have been, in more ways than one! But I must need new glasses...

No new glasses required, the aircraft is leaving a huge heat haze behind it...and a serious jet wash.. :Wow:

No surprised it was so low, was heavy and had its spoilers deployed during the take off run.

I suspect the pulses of the 4 chaps aboard raced slightly as well

Especially as it dipped back onto the runway after it first left the deck.. and even that was a LONG way towards the end!

Hi all,

Is there a photo from aside when it just passes the road? That will show how low it was the best.

There are some clear photos on the Brize spotters face book showing the spoilers clearly deployed in the up position when the jet is just airborne.

I tried posting a link but it didn't work but I guess others will post in due course.

Wow, that is low, does seem to be struggling to haul itself into the air.

Here is another mobile video from head on. The biggest difference from the other Crook take-off is the downforce from the spoilers I guess. You can see these in the picture grab from the video. If you look at a typical landing there are two spoilers on each wing, he appears to only have one set up on each wing (luckily).
