Meiringen 75th Anniversary

Post by LTFT5 » Mon Jul 25, 2016 7:37 pm

Hi to all,
Another trip to Switzerland to photograph the venerable F5 and take in two days at the 75th anniversary show.
This post concentrates on the F5s and F18s during the repetition course and arrivals for the show.
Kev Martin and Tony (vixen 1) have already posted excellent shots from our time out there, so I have chosen some different shots that hopefully portray the atmosphere of Meiringen.:

A big thank you to James, Kev (excellent driving), Garf and Tony for making it all such a laugh.

Shots are in no particular order but hopefully something for everyone.

Two disclaimers:
Paddyboy I take no responsibility for any adverse reaction to seeing these disgusting shots of F5s with canopies wide open.
No Swiss cows were harmed whilst taking these photographs.

On with the shots:

Nice set there Andy. Although I was muttering and cursing on the Tuesday morning when it was p******g down, I really like the head on shots of the F5s as they taxied out onto the main runway. Looks like you had some naughty elevation for some of them! Thanks for a great trip.

Hi Andy,
What a great set of shots, love those in the rain.
The two F5s shot from the rear just taxying in is a great angle and highlights the aerodynamic shape of the F5 fuselage.
I have good memories of Switzerland, especially Turtmann and Sion, but have not visited for awhile.
Thanks for posting these up.
C.

Hi Big Ted
Weather on some days was awful, but I kinda like the effect it has on the shots.

Once again thanks to all
Special thanks to Kev Martin for all the driving he did whilst we where in Switzerland.
