Panning at RAF Lakenheath & Sunset at Mildenhall!

Post by Tinker Toy » Wed Apr 27, 2016 10:44 pm

Hello all,

Here are a few shots from Monday at Lakenheath, 25.4.16! I tired some 1/30 & 1/60 panning to get some movement in my pictures! I hope you enjoy, and C&C welcome as always. I am trying to improve my editing now!

Fantastic shots. The panning ones are great and the light of the C-17's looks fantastic

Thank you guys for the kind words! I really like the movement panning adds and that Globemaster just landed at a fantastic time in the evening!

These were without a monopod, just using a Canon 7D and lots of shots. Out of 12 landing photos 4 were good and 1 really good. I have used a monopod in the past but I thought I'd give handheld a go.

Awsome job. Something I'm going to have to have a go at. Also was this over the top of the fence or through it?

It was through the fence, which wasn't an issue zoomed in full or just off full. I did have some issues focusing when zoomed out with picking the fence up in my shots!

Thanks again for the kind words, it was a very enjoyable day!

your photo's frustrate me.
One the one hand, this kind of photography inspires me to try to improve my technique, but on the other, I think, I can never take pics that good, I may as well give up now.

Superb shots those, and that's not a bad keeper ratio (your honesty is commendable also)

I would never have imagined taking a couple of shots like these a year ago, it is just practice and knowing your equipment. One tip that I have found really useful is to take as many photos as my cameras buffer will allow. That way your chances of getting the shot you want will hopefully go up! Certainly don't give up! :thumb:

I try to be honest, while we only share the keepers on here there are a lot of photos that don't make the grade and they are important too!

I am really glad people are liking the photos, it is fantastic. Thank you all and I hopefully will share some more soon!
