TC-135W 62-4129 according to the fudge box. No aerials underneath so would assume this to be correct.

Lovely crisp clear images :thumb: .
Any ideas as to what the knobbly bobbly bits are on the Typhoon pilots helmet in image 3?

Thanks for sharing these.

Great stuff - lovely and sharp and some very nice light. Great to see Cobra 56 and tanker too as I was listening to them on the radio at the time - shame this one didn't drop into the 'hall.

I was wondering this myself. I thought it was just a GAF thing, but I noted it on an 11sq helmet too

Knobbly bits have something to do with the helmet mounted display I think.

Interesting stuff! There is some clever technology out there & it amazes me how people think these systems up & then get them to work :O .

Cheers for the link regarding the helmet!

Great set, Zac - I refuse to comment about the knobbly bits on the German driver's helmet.

The Helmet is part of the HMSS, the knobbly bits being LED's that are tracked by 3 sensors. One on the Seat headbox and the other two just inside the windscreen arch. The sensors work out the pilots head position at all times and the system displays the correct symbology when hes looking out of the cockpit. mainly for weapon aiming, especially off boresight shots ie looking over your shoulder.

HTH
