January 2016 - Lakenheath and Mildenhall

Post by Heal1979 » Sat Feb 06, 2016 1:10 pm

Hello,

This is my first post of the year. It's a collection of photographs (in no particular order) taken in January at my local bases of RAF Lakenheath and Mildenhall. Some nice movement, let's hope it continues throughout the year :)

I always greatly enjoy looking at your work and this post is no exception. Magnificent, creative and inspiring photography. Impossible to select a favourite at the moment so I will need to go through them again later. Out of interest what focal length zoom are you using?
Brilliant work!

But gave up as they all stand out in one way or another

Cheers for posting

Great stuff, where are 4,5 and 6 taken from,is it past the derelict building, are you on ladders for these shots?
Is there no problem with being round there.

Thanks
Ian

You can go round there, I'm not sure if the poster has ladders or not but there is a wall there that you can stand on

Thanks Luke
Is that wall you mentioned the other side of the derelict building?

Thanks for the views, cool comments and general response - very positive and very much appreciated!

In answer to some questions:
The focal length varies from 500mm to 700mm (with the 1.4ex attached). Camera body is 5DIII.
The burner shots of the Eagles was taken down the lane from the viewing car park and past the old farm building. This can be done by taking the public path which arch's around the farm building until you meet the base perimeter again. At this point make a left along the grass. As I stood by the fence there was a donkey paddock to my left. The brick wall that was mentioned above was behind me. I focussed through the fence without too many problems so no step ladder required. Its best at this location either first or last thing in the day in my opinion.

Happy shooting :)
Cheers,
Chris
