Icelandic Coastguard at Aberdeen 05/01/2016

Post by Jonay » Wed Jan 06, 2016 1:50 pm

I hope this is allowed as it is a government aircraft!

A very miserable day yesterday, must've changed my mind about going to get this one about 8 times before I eventually went. I stayed in the car until the last minute to save me getting soaked. Best picture I got, a couple of crows decided to get between me and the plane and spoiled the rest :grr:

I tried to get a picture through the fence on the ramp, but it was too close and the fence is visible and spoils the picture too.

ohwell, I'm happy with this one!

Jonathan,

I use a monopod and cable release to get over the fence at the east apron if that helps, bit like a heavy duty selfie stick :thumb:
Luckily my camera has a swivel screen so I can tilt it down to assist framing.

I'm sure it will return in better weather as I caught it in August this year in sunshine. Good shot though despite the elements.
