Hi,

Some photos from a dark, cloudy and cold day at Fairford AB. But despite the weather, I would still say it was worth going!

Firstly, a surprise arrival was RAF Herc ZH884, arriving for a fuel and go when I was getting out of the car so no arrival photos.

Then, the star attraction came in. This was 80-1086 U-2 arriving from Akrotiri as DRAGN31.

After which, DRAGN21 called up announcing that it was 40 minutes away. Which was a nice surprise :) This was 80-1079 U2

Good pictures, you must have been near me as I have similar photo's. I pick it up on BZN radar at 5 miles out, nothing heard on London Mil channels further out ??

If you have a look at the NOTAMs for today, the Swanwick Mil freqs were changed around, so the lack of comms is probably because they were on non-standard freqs.

Nice shots. Did you get any pics of the F15s that went OTT on their way to Brize?

Re: the frequencies, I track them out to Flt level 600 ;-) I only pick them up on BZN VHF radar prior to landing. what are they using on their return to EGVA ??
