Romania Tour... (image heavy!)

Post by hmeasures » Mon Oct 12, 2015 6:07 pm

Hi all,

I joined HAS on a tour of Romania early last month, finally got round to sorting out my proper photos - Hope you enjoy them.

First base visit at Bucharest, gate guard is an AN-30, primarily a transport base but also bases the medevac pumas:

We then hit the road and made our way east to the 86th Air Base, Constanta, where some of the MiG-21s are based... we got 8 launches while we were there, heat haze was a bit of a killer though!

Again, green with envy, but can I ask why the angled shots? For example the one of 9611 streaming a chute would benefit from closer cropping and levelling. Just my thoughts. Despite that it is a great set of images and I am really envious of the opportunity you had. I like the AN-30 with the truck :).

Fantastic set and very well taken and thought out. Had to have a good laugh at the red
metal bent ladder on the Mig. Thanks for taking the time to share them. :thumb:

Thanks, but nothing compared to the top secret weapons system that we saw on the IAR-99:

Thanks Martin - I kinda like it, it's carried over from the motorsport photography I (used to) do. Divides opinion I know!

That's one of my favourite shots from the trip also, looks set up but it's not - it left about 20 minutes after that!
