Italian Army Dornier visits Lakenheath- 20/10/14.

Post by billydog » Mon Oct 20, 2014 6:40 pm

We had an unusual visitor at RAF Lakenheath this morning in the shape of an 8 Gruppo Italian Army Do.228 (MM62157)
Not the prettiest of airframes, but still nice to have something different visiting Suffolk.

Should have gone to Specsavers! ;)

The rear doors look like something from a garden shed; perhaps we should call it Shed II?

A great aircraft to fly in, built for real flying!!

Nice to see these are still in service!
I bet the trip all the way from Italy to Lakenheath was a bit of a drag though- i can't imagine the comfort levels in there are exactly first class!
