Total pants, if that’s it don’t bother. When you look at some NATO’s celebrations aircraft against this I really wonder who thought it was a good idea. Horrible.

I agree it is not an attention getter for such a truly historic moment, maybe all our negative reaction should be aimed at the designer/department to try and get it changed rapido!! :grr:
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Looks like Photoshop in all the pictures i've seen... as in the red panel looks like jpeg! Has anybody else actually SEEN it?

I can confirm the picture is genuine. The aircraft was out on the line on Wednesday morning.

Will be a real shame if this is the anniversary scheme in all it's glory. Compared to the other air arms that will no doubt join the celebrations it doesn't look great....

0 out of 10 for this effort. I really hope that there's something special in store for the official celebrations later in the year.

It amazes me how some here are so quick to write off the full 365 day anniversary year. You're either in the know, and in which case, this is a very poor effort, or you're making incorrect assumptions? Time will tell.....

My perception is that the RAF100 logo, brand, whatever you wish to call it is just that. It's across all RAF stuff - social media, print, concerts, sports, aircraft and I think that's what it is, a brand and promotion of that brand.

I'll eat my RAF100 year branded hat if we don't see something more than just this through the anniversary year.

Couldn't agree more.
May the skies be clear and blue and the wind fair with a guiding star to steer by.

It would be far less controversial if all aircraft were painted with the logo/brand.
It will not look good if on the day its required it breaks and no body(public) ever gets to see it,
that said its better than nothing at all, adding a splash of color to the drab grey aircraft we have these days

Gents,

As it's raining outside,I thought I would "backtrack" on a few posts
As identified on the A-10 thread about people not thinking... and thinking about others
Will the people who said they would eat there RAF100 hat if the sticker was the only thing we see this year.
Will you?
You should have said
Lets just wait and see

I'm only saying this as a joke.
So everyone calm down and lets move on

Let them have their fill of 'brands' and their 'branding' when the RAF is no longer a service, but a fully corporate agency of some privatised UK Defence PLC.

Our schools are already spending vast amounts of time and energy recruiting 'sponsors' and 'friends' and otherwise devising wheezes to make up for ever declining incomes from what is still ostensibly meant to be a public service. Time and energy that would otherwise be invested in getting as many children as possible successfully through the curriculum.

It would have looked good (in my opinion), and certainly better than the corporate logo, if every squadron had an aircraft with a large RAF crest on one side of the tail, and large squadron badge on the other.

I think it is a very poor effort and I am surprised that the CO even entertained the idea, as being anywhere near adequate. With 'Hindsight@ and yes it is a wonderful thing , i know. They could have done a Tornado in a truly outstanding scheme and kept it in such scheme until the aircraft was retired and placed it in the RAF Museum for people to see for many more years to come.

Not impressed
