The most despicable behaviour I have seen in a long time, a disgrace to the community of aviation enthusiasts, selling a story to the papers to make some money and humiliating the base after their hospitality of giving you a tour of their base that not a lot of people get to do!

It would appear on twitter this member has previous history - within minutes of USMC crash at Lakenheath also trying to peddle those pictures to the gutter press - disgusting you should never of been allowed on base at Lakenheath, I hope you are really pleased with yourself!

Well - head above the parapet time - and prepared to be shot down!

Looking at this from an outside perspective and would hasten to add I do not know Kurt personally or on the forum

Although it is not right how the tabloids have interpreted the story I feel there is there a case to be heard

Kurt was in a place that day where these photos could be taken - irrespective of the the base visit

Granted these photos should not been sent to taboilds via social media (think that is right as don't do Twitter / face book / face shout / or any of the other?) - but I believe Kurt just wanted some publicity and by this has learnt a lesson .

I can remember the USMC incident earlier this year - I PM ed Gary requesting the thread closed as I had heard 'issues' over the airwaves - have it all recorded but that is for me only. Some people want to go that extra and put out to all but ......... Don't know how that is going to be interpreted by the media?????? Which on this occasion (as always) was rubbish - who can remember the 'I am with this idiot' incident in the Mach Loop lead to all sorts of comments

As previously said some innocently want recognition and some notoriety but quite innocently as I think in this case. A lot of members would like a photo published (none from me - quite rightly so) and I think this is the case in this situation - personally would have a photo in one if the monthly mags but no where else (if ever) - not in a tabloids due to story manipulation.

Overall - yes it should have not have been done and I am sure lessons have been learnt with possible damage to the PA between the base and all which will hopefully be rectified. Innocent mistake rather than a sell out - To call somebody a c**t on a forum is a bit out of order.

Agree with the bar although this should be consistent across the board and anybody publishing photos for personal gain where inappropriate - mods to judge

Lessons learned and think thread should now be closed

Best regards

Darren
