Wow, thanks for the amazing response, looks and comments - glad you like them
In response to a few questions -
CookyBoy - awaiting the invoice for loan of the 5dIII mate, lol.
Powerslave - PM sent regards the planning that went into the trip.
Roughcutter - Lol, while I was there towards the end of the week I was wondering when and if I'd get back again - certainly while the Phantoms are still going strong. Thinking about November/December 2016 if I can save the pennies
What I found really good, along with the subject matter and weather for the most part, was the frequency of flights per day. I was expecting maybe two waves of aircraft per day - one in the morning, and one in the afternoon. Nothing like it - in blocks of 3-4 aircraft per wave, each Phantom/Eagle flew four missions a day starting from 0830ish right through to 1800+. Far more than I expected and allowed for more opportunities etc.
Like I said in my intro, if you're wondering about going, how you'd get on with the language, driving or even the food, don't worry about it at all! If you can, get out there while the likes of the Phantom amongst other old types are still playing. If anyone has any questions regards our trip please feel free to ask - I'll do my best to help.
Many thanks again for looking. Keep an eye out for Part II.
Cheers, Chris

No probs with the lingo, didn't need the phrase book - their English is impeccable. Infact I only quoted three words whilst I was there - Konishi wah, arigato and sayonara

These are simply superb! I especially like the first shot, and the close-up of the two F-15s with the blossom in the background - really atmospheric.
Brilliant work.
