Super Puma @ Duxford ~ 03Apr18

Post by Pen Pusher » Tue Apr 03, 2018 6:32 pm

I was just waiting for a passing rain front to skirt Duxford before heading home, it was very quiet and nothing was happening, when just before mid-day the French Air Force arrived in the shape of an Aerospatiale AS332L1 Super Puma 2235/FZ which parked up on the jet pan. Another rain front passed through, and then another and as the Super Puma was leaving just gone 2pm, it was raining again. In the order taken.

Same a/c , lunch stopped Compton Abbas airfield on Thurs 5th . No camera , but 'fotos on CA website . 8 pob , booking in and flight plan from Biggin hill en-route Bournemouth . Supposedly from Paris and return same day . Curtains closed for the turn-round ; that and a flight plan on a good VFR day .. We wondered 'wot was on board ?
Only movement all day and was able to park without bogging in , unlike our resident PA28s .

rgds condor .

P.S. Crew had a Kermit mascot with them in 't cockpit .

Mmm , flight plan , curtains closed ; munitions of war in a foreign country ?
Cunning Plan No.2 .The French , inc. Kermit are inciting anti-brexit feelings in East Angular and Wessex looking for another Senlac Hill to storm . Or revenge for Quebec , and take Hambledon Hill to spite General Wolfe .

Hat , coat , door .
