Pirates on JTAC duties

Post by C24 » Thu May 04, 2017 5:58 pm

Thanks Gary ;)

Poor conditions for snapping images.
Grey/gray cloud at 2000'; broken cloud at 4000'. Wind 25knots, gusting 33. Temp 10', feeling 4-ish.
Tripod taken out by the wind. Parts of my body adjusted themselves for protection and survival.
I had/haven't seen Hawks in this situation and configuration, many others may have missed them. So for what they are worth, especially those closeted in warm office/vehicles etc.
JTAC training

1. Pirate09 (Surely up for a place in the Reds).

After several runs, My Hero did a great low, low level run and exited, Stage left!
Sadly, I was sheltering from the wind and missed capturing the event.

3. Pirate28 was two up

The gull, shelduck, egret ship and boat images were much better even though the wind buffeted the camera.

It was a pretty awful week weather wise, we were lucky to get the traffic we did. The windchill was biting and the generally dull hazy conditions we far from ideal for aviation.

100Sqn had been dropping 3Kg practice bombs.

C24, did you manage to snap the Typhoons on Wed 03 May by any chance please?

Afternoon All :)
The Sun is shining through! I had forgotten what it is like to be outside and warm :(

Sorry no info re the Typhoons on any day last week. Neither a/c actually dropped ordnance on Tuesday, at least whilst I was there.
Nice to hear from the FCers. Posted for everyone who couldn't make it on the day.
Will try harder next time
