RAF Mildenhall 25/03 - The Redhawks arrive!

A rare chance at a free weekend for the first time in a long while and, with forecast good weather, i headed over to Mildenhall to see what could be caught. Unknown to me was the scheduled visit of 8 x F-15C of the 142nd Fighter Wing, Oregon Air National Guard for a night stop whilst on their way home (although given the number of people at the base there had to be something expected in!). Great to catch these especially with the supporting tankers as well. I can't remember a Saturday at the base quite like it for some time.

Great shots man, love the light and angles on those Eagles! Oregon ANG Eagles over there, Florida and Louisiana ANG over here on Leeuwarden, great moments for F-15 fans like myself!

The first four are particularly nice - were they taken from the trailer in Johns Field?

I was quite happy with my shots - couldn't go wrong really: nice light -point - shoot, but i did just get side on's

(It was a bit secret squirrel there - I pitched up to see what was happening - didn't realise it would be the same jets as two weeks earlier but it was obviously better weather for photos)

slogen51 - Yes, the first 4 were taken from the trailer. A mad run to get on it after catching the KC-10's side on from the field!
