Re: Crash Patrouille de Suisse F-5E J-3086
Excellent photo report on what turned out to be a good ending for all involved, it could've been so very different.

Re: Crash Patrouille de Suisse F-5E J-3086
Only saw these guys at Berlin ILA on Friday and Saturday.
So very relieved that nobody was seriously injured.
I can't even begin to imagine the skills and commitment required to enable display teams to perform formation aerobatics.

So sad - these are one of my fave teams. Glad nobody hurt though
Re: Crash Patrouille de Suisse F-5E J-3086
Thank the Lord the ending was as good as that
Could have been so much worse

Way before that is the '75 Jahre Militärflugplatz Meiringen' next weekend. I imagine the Leeuwarden accident & absence of their National Team will impact this event particularly hard?
For once, Social Media was seen to be very positive in the immediate aftermath of the Leeuwarden incident, as accurate reports of a favourable outcome began to filter through. It could easily have been so very different!
(please don't respond to my thread-drift but, I can see NOTHING in the 2016 CAA revised provisions that could/would have influenced this fortunate outcome?? One has to accept that 'S**t Happens!....several times last week)

I am happy that I could let you know that the Patrouille Suisse will fly at Meiringen! Link to the official announcement (in German only, sorry): http://www.vtg.admin.ch/internet/vtg/de ... 3.nsb.html
My English is not very good but I try to translate that for you:
The Patrouille Suisse will occur in the context of the anniversary event in 75 years Meiringen airbase from the 17th and 18th June 2016 in a formation of five. The pilots, as well as the competent military and political levels gave the green light after the accident by June 9 in the Netherlands for the upcoming appearance in Meiringen.
After the crash of an F-5E Tiger fighter jet of the Patrouille Suisse during a training flight for an air show in Leeuwarden (NL) on June 9 the question moved quickly, whether, and if so when the Swiss official Jet aerobatic team will be back in the air. After the pilots, as well as the competent military and political levels have agreed to, it is now clear: the Patrouille Suisse as planned on the anniversary celebration in Meiringen on 17 and 18 June 2016, however only occur in a formation of five.
The pilot that had to leave his machine with the ejection seat in the Netherlands will not fly for a while. He landed with his parachute in a greenhouse and thereby suffered a fracture in the foot area, light cuts and bruises. Due to that, the Patrouille Suisse will fly with five aircraft only.
Additional note: threre are more F-5 in Patrouille Suisse colors. And if you look at their website you can see that they list a spare pilot. But he is a yougster and not trained enough. One more thing: Patrouille Suisse is written without "de". Only the French team Patrouille de France is written with "de"
