Red Flag Alaska 16-1 'Rain or Shine' at Eielson AFB

Rain or shine... and it certainly did... an international group of photographers were welcomed on base for two days to cover Red Flag Alaska 16-1. As well as PACAF F-15 and F-16 units and Navy Growlers, the exercise was made very special by the participation of the Indian Air Force, with 4 Jaguar IS from 14 'Bulls' Squadron at Ambala and 4 Su-30MKI from 15 'Fighting Fifteen' Squadron at Sirsa, along with two IL-78MKI tankers from Agra.
Despite the mostly horrendous weather on day one, some 'different' shots were still possible, before the glorious day that followed. Again, a huge thanks to 1Lt Zani & staff from 354 FW/PA as well as Wg Cdr D'Silva IAF/PRO for the exceptional assistance.



















































































































































Finally, a few shots from nearby Fairbanks, where the Huey is part of the UAF College...

For me the F-16 is still an iconic jet. Although 86-0270 looked a bit different when I saw it as a Spang.
