3 Sqn at Butterworth. (updated 21 Oct 14)

Post by DeltaCharlieKilo » Thu Oct 16, 2014 6:55 am

Went across to the mainland early today to see if I could catch any of 3 Sqn's aeroplanes that are here for Exercise Bersama Lima 2014. Was not disappointed!

4-ship run-in.

Also involved in the exercise is RAAF Super King Air 350, A32-426. Caught it on finals after a flight up from Singapore.

Awesome set!
The BP typhoon looks like it has had its squadron markings removed, is it still 3 sqdn or going to another squadron?

Brom,
BP (ZJ802) belongs to 29 (R) Sqn now

Thanks for all the comments guys, much appreciated.

I was also wondering about the T3. Saw that previous markings had been painted over and wondered who it belonged to.

Funny Laurie, my interest would be the locals since these Typhoons are a common sight overhere ... any locals to post?

By the way did you ever catch these as we discussed last year? : http://www.airfighters.com/photosearch.php?loc=4967

It's the other way around here. Locals common, Typhoons not so. :) Visitors such as these are always worth waiting for.

There were a few locals about last Tuesday; 2 Hawks and an F/A18D. Missed one of the Hawks but got the others.

Many thanks for the link. I had forgotten about these frames. Must make a mental note on a piece of paper this time.

Getting ready for the return trip.

Spotted this Voyager parked up at Penang International Airport this morning.

Weather was a mixed bag of heavy cloud and haze.

Thanks for looking.
