RNAS Culdrose: January 2014

Post by Malfatron Malkovic » Sat Feb 01, 2014 9:58 pm

Here's a few snapshots from last month. Despite there being scores of Avenger, Pinger and Hawk movements i did my best to avoid snapping them, because i already have more than far too many snaps of them.
Therefore what follows is a summary of Sea Kings, Depth, the odd visitor and a few from Dummy Deck.
Still, i trust a heterogeneous enough post to be of interest.

Duty Rescue Cabs last month were:
XV670/17

ZA137/20

Local celebrity XV666'Damien'/21

XZ920/24

I only managed to snap a couple of Baggers
XV707/184

XV649/CU-180

A few from Depth:
ZJ124/H

ZJ129/N

ZJ134/S

The odd visitor:
G-FRAI (9-1-14)
Image
ZA670 (24-1-14)
Image
M-520 (27-1-14)
Image
A few from Dummy Deck:

Hi MM :P

Great post, mate :thumb:

Never tire of shots of Sea Kings

Good job you are snapping them, as they won't be around for ever :(

Morning Mal,

Always worth checking to see what's doing down your way. Thanks for these (& previous ones that I just cast an eye over with an envious smile)

Keep up the good work, carriers coming soon!

Nice set Malf, you've found some good places to take pics down there.

There are a few used by RNSFDO (Royal Navy School of Flight Deck Operations) on the Dummy Deck at Culdrose to train Aircraft Handlers in the art of moving Aircraft around the confines of a Carrier Deck. The Sea Harriers towed with engines running to make the training as realistic as possible.

Very nice, great to see the Dummy Deck using the Sea Harriers.

How much longer for the Sea Kings.

Thank you very much, everyone, for taking the time to reply, most kind of you all.
It really is heartwarming to see so much interest in our little camp down here.
