James Bond Skyfall

Post by RickIngham » Fri Oct 26, 2012 5:32 pm

Feeling spontaneous so thought I'd post some pictures on here from the Skyfall film set near Aldershot earlier in the year. These photos have been embargoed until the film came out - go and see it!

All the buildings are fake cardboard props - see if you can see the chapel with Bond's parent's gravestones...

poor quality but how often do you look down on a Merlin with a spotlight infront of a house on fire...

Let's see if that particular Merlin will appear on the Airshow Circuit Next Year with those markings, how awesome would that be? Looking forward to hopefully seeing Skyfall Next Week all being well.

Just taken my son to see this film (his first Bond cinema experience). This is also the first time that he has taken an interest in this website too! Thanks for sharing these.

Nice shots from a great film  . Was it an RAF airframe/crew?
Thanks

Thanks all.
Unknown74, the cab was repainted quite quickly afterwards and infact only saw daylight when it had to reposition for filming - catching it was tough work!
lynothehammer, it was filmed on common land to the south of Aldershot near Farnham.
Dan213, the RAF had nothing to do with it. The production company paid AgustaWestland to paint it up and provide aircrew for it.
Technically speaking it's a civvy cab oops!

As always a great set. Well caught. A good few angles to show behind the scenes. Glad you were able to get it in those colours during its short life.
Just go's to show all the hard work you put in over the years has got you the shots again. Keep up the great posts

Just curious - if they were taken on common land, how were they embargo'd?

It's a common but it's still owned by the MoD DE. A few other photographers have had legal action taken against them for putting up pics and video. One wrote a lot about it on her blog which is Google'able. Part of the agreement to be trusted by security there was that they stayed offline until the film was published. Regardless of the rights, I wasn't going to argue!

Thanks for the good response, appreciated!

Great shots, saw the film last night, brilliant...
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Bit like taking pics in France, being told not to publish them and getting a knock at the door lol!
