Grob Tutor Photo Thread

Post by 2e1var » Sat Nov 26, 2011 7:14 pm

With the current craze in 'post your ....' threads, I thought I'd start one for the very often overlooked Grob Tutor
At first I just thought it would be funny but then I thought, how many hours have some of us spent at airfields where without these little babies there would be no activity at all ? And I know you all point your cameras and take few shots, there must be millions of pics out there :)

Really geeky that I'm looking through this thread, looking at the registrations and seeing how many of the Tutor's photographed I've flown in...

Anyway a very small selection of my Tutor shots :thumb:

Seriously? Is there really nothing to photograph at the moment?

I would make a joke about a Vigilant thread being started but fear somebody might actually do it :S
BECAUSE TYPING IN LOWER CASE WOULD BE EASY.............

Some great stuff here. Sadly some shots are spoilt by Scotland being in them.............

I'm not knocking the quality of photography here, it is just the subject matter I find a bit mundane. I've clocked up time on both Benson and Boscombe Tutors and did enjoy the time spent in them.

At least with F-16's they have special schemes, various air force markings and different camo.

This thread has made me smile the last two nights two questions

1: Are we trying to get a photo of each tutor in service?
2: Are the Navys Heron to be included or is that too off topic?

Keep posting, my personal favourite VR always flying whenever I go to Cranwell.

Firstly ZZ330

Cracking set of images and particularly like image 195!

As for a mundane a/c etc well I have to be honest and say that I very rarely raise the camera when they are flying.........BUT when
at Leeuwarden for the Open Dagen this year i thoroughly enjoyed the display the Tutor Display Pilot put on!!
The crowd around us seemed to really like it aswell but to be honest I dont think "Still" images would have done it justice.

End of the day if we are going to have the "....A/c type" threads then we may as well have 1 for the aircraft we
are most likely to see these days!!!

You may joke about this, but after being told that tutors are being used in FAC exercises to simulate tornado's, I think it's something we will have to get used to shooting!

Never would've guessed that tutors were used for low level stuff - that's cool :thumb:
