RAF Valley 8th & 9th October 2009

Post by steve149c » Fri Oct 09, 2009 9:23 pm

Hi All,

8th 1400-1600

ZE203 [GA] QientiQ "Guantlet 15" landed with Missle misfire

9th 1445-1600

ZH763 - BAC 111 from QientiQ landed - Guantlet 52, taxied to VAS, picked up two aircrew (presuming crew from Tornado F3 yesterday), then tookoff again, flight time to Boscombe 45 minutes. Speaking with a guy on Fraggle rock, he said he had been in the hangars earlier and there was a Tornado, but he wasn't allowed near it. So my guess is Monday could be a good day with the crew returning from Boscombe to take ZE203 back down?!?
Noted ZK026 out playing
Also a hawk with landing gear indication lights burning off fuel over the bay - sorry no callsign on this.

ZE370 SAR122 Seaking - noted a new black dome under the port nose wheel - other seakings on the line don't have this - maybe a new radar?

Very nice shots!! Do like the T2!!
With regard to the black dome under the Sea King I think it is an Infrared camera. I maybe wrong, if so let me know!! :thumb:
Cheers

Cracking set, love the last one, and nice catch on the 1-11.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated. With regard to the Seaking - it is a FLIR, with telephoto capacity for the day - got chatting to a winchman who happens to live next door. All of them barring one at Valley have it - for the last 2 years

Cheers
