Tac Blaze Carlisle 17 June 24

Post by toom317 » Tue Jun 18, 2024 11:39 am

They're back and they've brought their new toys with them. Nice to have the Dutch back at Carlisle airport and they have brought 3 of their new AH64E Apaches with them. Hoping to catch some great flying action over the next 3 weeks up at Spade range. Flying shots are in order of arrival, though the Apaches arrived as a 3 ship formation so shown in formation order.

Nice one Danny, no doubt see you around over the next few weeks. Seems like the Apaches are operating from the 19 runway end and they repositioned last night facing to the south. Q-40 and 42, plus D-605 flew last night till quite late (D-605 back at 1015pm).

So it begins... . Another dutch Chinook, D-472, arrived earlier this week. So now three present. Also today another Cougar left for Carlisle, the S-445. So as of tomorrow nine dutch helicopters present. That is more then you will see at Gilze-Rijen itself.

Excellent set, many thanks for sharing.

Bit of a favour to ask you (or other informed FCers): any advice on where I might be able to photograph these helos during Tac Blaze. I've not visited Spadeadam before but might make the journey north from sunny York.
Thanks in advance

Very nice Danny, I'm hopefully hoping to make it down at the end of this week, fingers crossed for some decent action.
Cheers.
