Had a nice surprise on Sunday morning when “Johnburn49”, the KC46 that had been temporarily based out of Mildenhall for the Memorial Day flypasts from the 305th Air Mobility Wing at McGuire AFB, came over the garden at approx 2000ft after carrying out a second pass over Chelverston village for the public affairs people on board that wanted some more photos.
The airframe was wearing the markings of the 305th Bomb Group that was based at Chelverston during WW2.
Interesting shots.
Made me wonder if they have a boom operator's window after all but I think it's just a hole where a drogue and basket can come out (?)
Thanks for posting.
Regards,
Ferrari.
