Lightnings Strike at Culdrose

Post by EGDR » Mon Jun 19, 2023 6:02 pm

Couldn't have asked for better weather for the F-35's first taste of the tarmac at RNAS Culdrose! ZM158 and ZM163, callsigns DOOM11/12, performed a flypast over Falmouth for the flag raising ceremony ahead of Armed Forces Day this coming weekend, and subsequently spent a few hours on the deck at Culdrose. Both jets flew a couple circuits on arrival, and several on departure.

Great set of photos! This flight teased me in the morning going past, I could hear them but not see them due to clouds. Thanks for posting!

I saw them both low over Falmouth at 10am yesterday but wasn't expecting them so camera wasn't ready!
