Exercise TAC Blaze - RAF Spadeadam

Post by dannyboyo20 » Sun May 21, 2023 11:09 am

Hi all, we were overjoyed to welcome back the Netherlands Air Force to our region after a few years away. I have around 2000 images to process from week 1, so just a few for now showing some of the action so far. Including some Apache shots I've been after for many years!

There will be many more to come haha!

Cheers, Danny

Excellent set there Danny. Really like those Apache shots, especially the second shot with the one behind. Trying to picture where that was shot from, with that small road below (western end of Wylie Sike ?)

Did these arrive at Carlisle after 5pm on Monday the 15th as two Apaches went OTT near Uttoxeter around 4.45pm heading North ?
Thanks Neal

Lovely set of shots! That first Chinook shot is a belter, and do love the 2 Apaches together :D

Superb set. The Apache pair look amazing. I also really like 1st pic of Chinook in the landscape - very atmospheric.

Brilliant photographs - well done and thanks for posting.

I don't know the area all that well, but I think the ones with the Apaches and the road are just NW of what Google Earth shows as Butterburn on the road to Churnsike Lodge.

If that's the case, then they must have been really low.

Regards,
Ferrari

You are quite correct Ferrari! In 20 years i’ve not seen anything quite that low and slow in that location before. The Dutch are certainly setting the bar for everyone else :-)

Stunning set, is there a good guide to the location somewhere online ?
