NAF El Centro and Imperial 18th October 2022

Post by 747woody » Sun Nov 06, 2022 1:58 pm

Very quiet day at El Centro, despite a bunch of T-45s being present. Didn't know at the time but the T-45s were grounded :(

This came from Oceana, and was followed much later by some VFA-106 Super Hornets, which I missed!

Four of these turned up for a gas and go:

........... and this turned up and worked the pattern for a while:

The CAG showed up on ADSB, went to Yuma, shot an approach, climbed, headed west, descended  - and went to Holtville! (a disused airfield east of El Centro) :O :(

Caught at Imperial that evening:

Great shots Chris, especially the VMM-164 Osprey at night, Imperial is tough without the refeulling trucks headlights, well done.

Lovely Chris. I've always found Imperial a struggle at night but those Osprey's look superb.

Thanks. The 5D4 with live view seemed to cope quite well with the lack of light.
