Another highly successful Northolt Nightshoot bites the dust. For those who don’t know, RAF Northolt runs Night Photoshoots twice a year (in the Spring and Autumn) to allow invited aviation photographers controlled access after dark to take timed exposure photographs of participating aircraft. The main objective of the Night Photoshoots is to help raise funds for the restoration of Building 27 at RAF Northolt. Building 27 was built in 1928/9 and became RAF Northolt's Sector Operations Building, part of the Dowding system of Air Defence during the second world war. The restoration work is carried out by volunteers and the restoration materials are paid for by donations.
Also present at this year’s photoshoot were members of the 253 Squadron Living History Group. Their participation certainly made the Hurricane photos infinitely more interesting and their help and patience were greatly appreciated.
