HH60s, Chinooks, Merlin and wildcat at RAF Spadeadam taken from Hadrian's wall

Post by DylMeredydd » Thu Sep 15, 2022 9:27 pm

Had a pleasant surprise whilst walking Hadrians Wall Today.
Saw a Pair o Chinooks carrying a Slung load to RAF Spadeadam with a Merlin following also with a load.

Then saw 2x A400s, one was Low level on their way to Carlisle Airport. Blein01 and Blein02 i think they were. They were followed by an USAF MC-130.

Afterwards saw a wildcat, 2x Chinooks, Merlin and 2x Pavehawks leaving RAF Spadeadam.

Made up a bit for cancelling our visit to Lakenheath this week. The photos are a mix from phone and Camera after i ran back to get it from the car. Just a shame they were just a little bit too far away for a decent photo.

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Never been myself but it looks good

Great set of images!
I believe there was a Cobra Warrior exercise at Carlisle Airport. It's great seeing the Pave Hawks out and about at the moment.
There is some footage of the exercise on YouTube https://youtu.be/GVbRgW-QAc8
