Panamint Springs - Bird Watching

Post by 747flyer » Sun Jun 20, 2021 9:02 am

I was very fortunate to have the opportunity visit Star Wars Canyon on a number of occasions before the ban came into force. Here are several shots from my back catalogue I managed to capture.

This F-16 was one of flight of four that flew through the Canyon. Little did I know that this would the last series of passes I would witness before the low level restriction came into force following the accident in July 19

Brilliant shots, top quality. Can almost feel the heat from the canyon floor.
Many thanks for sharing.

The VMFA-232 F/A-18C . . . . I wonder if the paint shop routinely check aircraft before they leave, as the national insignia on the port wing is upside-down!

* Great set of shots BTW!! :thumb:

Great pictures. The only time I got to Father Crowley’s Point I had wife, daughter and sister-in-law in tow and I wasn’t getting away with any time to sit and wait for a/c. We did stop at the springs shortly after and a Hornet nearly took the roof off the car.

Great selection Neil...happy days indeed!

Love the Harrier shot. Infact I had to check, as I have an identical shot of the same frame, if I had met you out there on one of my trips...looks like I was stood right next to you?!
Turns out, I caught the same shot just 9 days prior to yours and I actually met you on a day out in Wales!

See you around Neil, rgds, Paul :thumb:
