RAF Waddington - Typhoon Air Power Demo

Post by ^^Gord^^ » Sat Oct 02, 2010 9:31 am

An impressive display by the Typhoon at Waddington on Thursday, hopefully the routine will be forming the basis of the 2011 air show routine.

Thanks!

A good start with the kit but still learning the finer points of the Nikon system. I managed to stuff up the 100 Sqn special Hawk because the AF selector wasn't on continuous servo. I'm not use to setting it with a physical selector yet and with Canon I could review the settings at a quick glance of either the top or rear LCD screens. Not so with a Nikon.

Apart from little niggles like that I'm getting on well. Missing the 100-400 a little bit. The 70-200 f/2.8 I got to replace it is short but is very sharp. I've got a 1.4x TC so will have a play with that.

The 300 f/2.8 is just as good as the Canon version I use to own (see above!).

I'm blogging my experience on my sight. Looking to get a trip to Wales for the ultimate test as soon as I can.

A cracking set of pictures. If that is the start with your new equipment, it looks as though you are going to enjoy using it.
