Anatolian Eagle 2019 - Konya AB, Turkey

Post by pako-2008 » Thu Jul 04, 2019 8:32 pm

It was great to see the Turkish re-introduce a couple of spotters days for this exercise following events back in 2016. Konya is a beautiful location with some great photographic opportunities available when all goes to plan.

Suffice to say once things were announced it was a no brainer to plan a trip, if at the very least to see some Turkish F-4Es again. Here's a few brief edits from the two days:

Thanks for looking, hopefully the event will return in 2020 as the Turks seemed very positive when asked. Might be the last time the F-4Es take part too...
Cheers

To be honest most images were shot with a 70-200 as we were that close not much more was needed. However, at times I used a 300mm prime for some of the close ups then a 16-85mm for more wide angle. Everything on a crop body.

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Top quality Aaron, that looks like it should be on everyone's bucket list! If I can ask, were your photos from the spotters day spotters enclosure, or did you have privileged access? love the post processing as well. Great work. Cheers, Kelvin

Just ridiculously good subjects which you've done nothing but justice over! Would love a JF-7 to cross the channel one day (I can imagine I'm not alone in this!) They managed Paris at least, so there's hope yet.

These were all from the locations provided on the spotters day Kelvin. The mornings were a bit harsh with the light, but the Turks did their utmost to get us into the best possible locations available. Can’t fault their efforts and hospitality.
Cheers
