Exercise TAC Blaze - Carlisle & RAF Spadeadam 27/02/19

Hi all,

Took a trip over to Carlisle and Spadeadam in hope of catching the current Dutch deployment in good weather conditions. Managed some shots at Carlisle in bright early morning sun, before heading over to Spade. A little bit of chasing and waiting eventually paid off when Grizzly flight (2x Chinooks) conducted some low level work on the Eastern side of the range, allowing some great views! Unfortunately the Apaches stayed away and around 1700 thick fog soon put a block on the evening sorties.

Nice to see some pics from that location, tried it on Monday with no luck. You made the right choice by moving location, they didn't really come near the 2nd car park.

Many thanks again all. This years ex has been a tale of 2 halves. Spots of superb light and unusually warm, then the polar opposite with fog, torrential rain and snow!
