Soon, some new patches will be available 😉.
CT-01 makes his appearance in our Sqn today.
Official arrival in Luxembourg today and at our Sqn on Friday 09/10/2020 after ( weather permitting ) a navigation above both countries.
Another A400m will be performing drop tests the coming weeks above our country, it is a factory aircraft, so watch out for the Tailnumber 😎😉

Goodbye to the Embraer
On 18 November 2020, the first of four Embraer aircraft will be transferred to its new owner. The sale of the four Embraer aircraft and all associated spare parts was awarded to the French Regourd Aviation on December 19, 2019.

Amelia by Regourd Aviation will deploy Belgian Defence’s former Embraer fleet for regional passenger flights over Europe and Africa to complement their current Embraer ERJ 135/145 and ATR 42/72 fleet.

The second transfer is scheduled for the end of December 2020 and the 2 smaller Embraer aircraft will also perform their last flight for Defence on 23 December 2020 before setting sail for their new home base. At the end of this year, Defence will say goodbye to its own commercial fleet after just under 20 years of loyal service. The capacity will be replaced by the two Falcon 7X aircraft that Defence has been leasing since this year through Abelag Aviation (leasing).

    The 2 EMB-135s (CE-01 & CE-02) went to Saint Brieuc, Brittany this morning as BAF617 & BAF619.
They were followed by Falcon 7X OO-EJA as BAF86 which stayed for about 40 miins before going back to Brussels.
By the time I got there the EMBs had been put onto the AirMain / Amelia ramp which suggests to me that they have been
delivered to Amelia. (unless someone knows better)

The leased A321 will also be departing service with the Belgians soon
Last flight for Airbus A321 from Melsbroek base The military airport of Melsbroek is preparing for the new normal at the end of 2020. After the departure of the Embraer ERJ 135/145 aircraft on Wednesday, December 22, 2020, it is today on the eve of Christmas for the Airbus A321 to perform its last training flight. The tarmac of the 15 Wing Air Transport will therefore have fewer aircraft in 2021, but that does not mean that there will be less activity. On the contrary, the unit is in full transition and the fleet is undergoing a massive rejuvenation treatment. This means a lot of extra work and new challenges for the staff of the 15Wing Luchttransport.

The Belgian Defense has leased the Airbus A321 with registration CS-TRJ since 20 May 2014 from the Portuguese airline Hi Fly. The lease with Hi Fly was initially foreseen for a period of 4 years, but was eventually extended twice with a definitive end on December 30, 2020. After the last training flight, the A321 will be stripped of its military equipment and prepared for departure to its owner Hi Fly in Lisbon in Portugal.

Defense can make use of various options for the implementation of military passenger flights from 1 January 2021. For example, there are its own A400M transport aircraft and Falcon 7X, there is cooperation with the European Air Transport Command in Eindhoven in the Netherlands, from which aircraft of the European military partners, including the Airbus A330 MRTT, can be designated and an agreement has been concluded with the Belgian airline ABELAG (Association Belge d'Aviation Général) and LUXAVIATION, specializing in ad hoc charter flights, to provide Defense with an appropriate means of transport at the desired time.

Appears FA-118 suffered some damage yesterday

Incident with damage to the “exhaust nozzle” of FA-118 in Florennes

One of our plane had a technical failure on takeoff yesterday, February 11, in which some parts of the engine exhaust broke. Most parts fell on the domain of the airbase. Some parts fell in line with the runway. In addition, there was no damage to the public domain or persons. The air base's airport police recovered these parts.

At no point has flight safety been compromised. The pilot has applied the usual emergency procedures for such engine failure and performed a precautionary landing at the air base. This precautionary landing went smoothly.

As with any incident of this nature, a technical investigation is started into the cause. If civilians have parts in their possession, they are asked to bring them to the watch staff of the air base of Florennes.

    Bit more info
The first week of March will be full of emotions !

CH13 starts his last active month in our Sqn but ....

Wednesday the 3rd of March ( 03/03/2021), CT-03 will join our fleet. A lot of 3's involved, so an easy date to remember. We are expecting him around 12 o'clock local.

He will present himself like CT-02 for a salut at the 20Sqn building followed by a landing on the 25L ( depending weather conditions of course 😉 )

Please adhere to regulations and keep your distances at the Spotter's positions, CT-03 is not vulnerable but others are 😷
With the arrival of CT-03 a new patch will be available @20SqnStaticDisplayTeam page 👊
