Schleswig-Jagel 24th June 1986

Post by 67ARRS » Thu Jul 08, 2021 9:05 am

Tidying up my logs for a European trip back in June 1986 and I have found the following.

I had logged a preserved Sea Hawk (?) VA-229 but is this it's true identity and if not, what is it's true identity.

Many thanks

Nigel

From West German Military Wrecks & Relics since 1956 second edition by G A Hilterman (Flash Aviation 1990): "Sea Hawk VA+234 (c/n 6667) arrived in the mid-sixties and was mounted on a pole with the false code 'VA+007'. In the mid-seventies the a/c was freshly painted and got the false code 'VA+229'. As such the aircraft is still present'.

Hope that helps.
