Bastille Day flypast 2023

Post by slogen51 » Mon Jul 10, 2023 10:18 pm

Booked the ferry so all set - my first time back since COVID

Vive la France!

'From 10am to midday, the Avenue des Champs-Élysées and sky above Paris welcome more than 6,000 on foot, 70 aircraft, 20 helicopters, 200 vehicles and 200 horses of the Republican Guard."

"The flypast features several fighter jets from other nations, including an Indian Rafale, a British Typhoon and a Belgian F-16. It traditionally opens with a flypast by the Patrouille de France, which celebrates its 70th anniversary, at around 10.30am."

Back in time for RIAT departures

Army helicopters fly from Chartres. Nice place to photograph them the evening before the flypast.

Thanks the only thing that puts me off is that I am staying at CDG Thursday evening and the traffic from Chartres around Paris to CDG looks horrible

Can you see anything at Evreux?

Evreux is terrible if they’re not flying. The based aircraft are mostly not visible (unless you count tails behind walls)
The taxiway with aircraft is visible from a distance

Thanks

Only just arrived back home - can't think why I drove as I didn't use the car to get around - should have flown as I was by myself!

When I get a chance I will compare the list with scramble and fill any gaps and fix the mistakes

Hold on ! Just noticed ZK370 was in the flypast

What a machine for me , missed at Warton, Missed at Coningsby, transferred to Lossiemouth which might as well be on the moon as far as I am concerned, potted in Paris.

Result.

A very early heads up, which we noticed while attending this event in 2023. The French media is reporting that because of the Olympics in Paris in 2024, the actual 2024 Bastille Day parade will take place in a different location to normal. This was announced by Macron at this year's event.

The parade will take place between Vincennes and La Nation.

The article that states this can be seen here [it is in French]
