First visit to the 'new USA', a biz trip with no spotting planned, i.e. very small spotting tools only (200 mm lens + 'opera glasses').
Had some time to kill on Sunday 30th March though, so I made short stops at:
Bradley IAP, CT
84-0210, 92-1453, 93-1457, 93-2042, 95-6712 all C-130H 118th AS, CT-ANG
05-08015, 07-08743, 09-08787, 11-08088 CH-47F, all should be with 2-104 AVN B Co det 1, CT-ARNG
(15)-20778 HH-60M, should be with 1-126 AVN, C-Co Det. 2, CT-ARNG
preserved at the Army facility is UH-1H 66-16218, on the ANG side F-100D 55-3805 CT, A-10A 79-0103 CT. No sign of the preserved F-102 (56-1264) which used to be in the same spot (still visible on google earth).
Didn't bother visiting the nearby New England Air Museum, just quickly noted outside:
52-1488 RB-57A
62-04188 C-7A
52-1896 F-89J
142246 A-3B
2121 HU-25A
Westfield Barnes RAP, MA
Looking over from the Grumman facility as few Eagles were visible on one part of their flight line:
(84)-0010, (84)-0016, (85)-0108, (85)-0121 F-15C, (85)-0134 F-15D all 131st FS MA-ANG
85-0121 was still coded ZZ, the others MA with red fin stripe
77-0104 MA F-15A is preserved outside the ANG gate.
Westover AFB, MA
In the good old days you coud say 'hello' at the Army facility, take photos of their Cobras and OH-6s, and read the C-5As. Nowadays the flight line isn't really visibled from there. Looking over from the other side, a small industrial area, I was a victim of not having better tools with me. Good thing: The nearest and only C-5M I could read 99% sure was 86-0014 = the only one I needed :-) Also read was 85-0006, parked differently, near the flight line. 4 C-5Ms of 337th AS should be 'out': 87-0031, 87-0039 and 87-0041 should all be at Warner Robins, 87-0037 at Waco, TX. The other 4 C-5M of the unit were all active from Westover before and after my visit, so the situation with 6 C-5Ms on board should have been as follows
(86-0012), 86-0014, (87-0027), (87-0043) = 4x 337th AS on the flight line, plus 1 unidentified C-5M from 436th AW
85-0006 68th AS near the flight line
Cheers

New England 30 March 2025
Re: New England 30 March 2025
Nice log. The F-102 was moved to Eglin AFB's Air Force Armament Museum last month.

Re: New England 30 March 2025
Thanks Koen.
With some research done today it seems that 69-0024 was the 436AW C-5M on the flightline. It arrived from Dover AFB on 19.02., departed to Dover on 03.04.
So, believing in ADSB info I have read 2 C-5s, but all 6 seen seem to be clear. At least: the only important one I could read ... Now only 68-0216 is missing for me!
