Re: Avalon airshow
A Canadian CC-150 Polaris turned up on Monday 27th, but it's not on the participation list. I wonder what else might turn up!
If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...
Re: Avalon airshow
I visited today, Friday March 3rd, and the Canadian CC-150 was not here. However, non Australian aircraft present were A400Ms from the German AF and Malaysian AF, a C-2 from the Japanese AF, an F-15, F-16, and two CH-47s from the Singapore AF, a US Army UH-60 and AH-64 from Ft. Lewis, Wa. And the USAF provided two F-15s from Kadena, three F-22s from Alaska, an Iowa ANG KC-135, Dover C-5, Travis KC-10 & KC-46, and a C-17 from Hickam.
Re: Avalon airshow
Evening, do you happen to have a checklist for today. Unfortunately camera started to play up on way round without me being aware. MTIA

Re: Avalon airshow
another vote to anyone who might have a list of the airframes (military only for me) as I'm trying to get the serials from all youtube videos or Facebook group photos. Any help would be gratefully accepted :-)

Re: Avalon airshow
I forgot to add, I was watching the show on ADSB on Friday night (UK) so Saturday in Australia I caught the B-52 coming in it showed up as 60-0025 "SKULL 11" it did a pass North to South then a South to North pass then departed heading NNW.
If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...
Re: Avalon airshow
I missed the Singapore F-16/F-15 damn.
Re: Avalon airshow
Hiya,
Did the two F/A-18Fs that flew with th Qantas bird actually land at Avalon?
The Koreans were horrible to read as usual (those 3s and 5s...) but this is my take for now:
10-0052 / 1
10-0051 / 2
15-0084 / 3 (read as 13-)
10-0053 / 4
10-0055 / 5
10-0059 / 6
10-0058 / 7
10-0060 / 8
Best regards,
Erwin

Yes, those two F-18s did land, and parked at the top end near to the Qantas, just down the taxiway from the Roulettes.
Thanks for the serials of the Black Eagles, much appreciated.
Regards,
Derek.

Re: Avalon airshow
Lucky to be there on the Sunday. Thanks to Derek for the comprehensive log. The following changes were noted on Sunday:
Static
N52-009/849 was marked as "Army" not RAN
67-21431 O-2A undoubtedly had a civilian identity but looked nice in USAF scheme
A91-1 Sycamore was displayed by Moorabin Air Museum
Flight lines
06-4127/AK was the F-22 that flew
A54-031 was the Roulette PC-21 that didn't fly
A32-031 B350 wasn't noted but the static was arranged so randomly I could have missed it
Flying
A44-203 and 208 F-18s taxied out and departed home just ahead of the RAAF showcase display
A44-201 and 222 F-18s took off and joined the RAAF showcase
A35-022 and 009 F-35s took off and joined RAAF showcase
A35-021 F-35 flew solo display
A30-006 was the E-7A
Though I took several photos, the KC-30 was too high for me to get a clear shot showing its registration, so help with that would be appreciated.
Also flying were warbirds:
A17-691 Tiger Moth
A85-439 Winjeel
A19-077 CT-4A
NZ1075 Harvard
A very good show, especially if you like flares!
Regards
Geoff

Re: Avalon airshow
Hi Geoff,
Looking at my photos, the EC135 in static had Army on one side of the tail, and Navy on the other. Presumably a joint training squadron from Nowra.
Regards,
Derek.

Re: Avalon airshow
A couple of questions
I assume the PNG did not turn up to the event?
Did anyone catch regestrations of the RAAF C-27, RoKAF C-130, RSAF A330 that came in on departures day?

Re: Avalon airshow
I didn't see the PNG on any of the 3 days, so assume a no show (or in with the civilian area I didn't go into)Red Dragon wrote: ↑Tue Mar 07, 2023 12:01 pmA couple of questions

I went down on Monday for departures. A32-437 King Air arrived. All 3 Korean C-130's arrived, I didn't see them ( left after the USAF departures) but followed them on flight radar).
