Swedish Historic flight - Update for 2013

Post by Dunk » Tue Mar 26, 2013 12:24 pm

An update to their site has been posted ( http://swafhf.se/start2012.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) and this is what Google translates it to:
Best Veteran Special Friends! Swedish Air force Historic Flight, Swedish Air Force Historic Flight, SwAFHF during the winter worked primarily with getting the SK 37 and SK 35 Viggen Dragon airworthy for the season 2013th . The work is delayed due to administrative problems SwAFHF can not influence. We assume, however, that there will be no solution now in spring. In addition, the implementation calendar time control of rescue system AJS 37 Viggen and replacement of drive shaft with accompanying vibration driving and also some odd jobs at J 29 barrel, including byte av tankpump. replacement tank pump. We will now implement årstillsyn on Hunter and SK 61 and also årstillsyn the Vampire and SK 16 in Västerås. Work SwAFHF "green" SK 16 is routinely and also carried out the installation of a rökaggregat, while the work of the "new yellow SK 16" has intensified with the hope to get it in the air within a year. As seen huge steps forward for our propeller enthusiasts. We also have an inventory of spare location for the Viggen and Draken. The work of compilation of all the summer shows are in full swing. In short, we will participate with the majority of the "fleet" in Västerås on 26 May and at Säve on 8 and 9 June. In addition, the most AJS 37 Viggen, SK 60 and SK 16 as requested. It is also clear Roskilde on 17 and 18 August and Jersey on September 12. Otherwise, it's just over 10 inquiries, including Fairford och Malta, which will surely fall out favorably in most cases. SwAFHF have worked and are working continuously to SwAFHF website more "enjoyable" and current. A lot of work is going on. SwAFHF goal is to eventually make it possible for both pilots and technicians also the people who work with information to update a blog. This would increase the flow of information considerably. Our goal is that you as a member to follow working on renovations of the aircraft, the flights on the different flight days etc.
Reading between the lines I think it means the Drakens wont be playing this year?

Also enquiries from Fairford which should work out favourably is the way I read that!

I read that as neither their SK37 Viggen or SK35 Draken will be displaying this year (at the moment) however the AJS37 Viggen will be.

This displeases me immensely :grr:

As am I now one of the affluent stereo types among us allegedly  (i.e going to Gothenburg), perhaps I should chip in financially... :pop:

Don't they have a single seat Draken as well that is already in flight condition? Think these are the two seater versions that they are in the process of restoring neither of which are listed as flying at Gothenburg at the moment.

It is a shame, from the conversations I had at the Aeroseum last month, they seemed pretty confident the 2 seaters would be flying well before the airshow in June.

The positive thing is that they are still on schedule to return them to the air, and you cannot fault them for being delayed, infact they should be applauded for their efforts.

Can't fault the Swede's enthusiasm for keeping their aviation heritage in the air!
