At EHVK (Volkel) you don't have a good light, mostly against the sun (check your ISO) and there is always a static blocking the runway. (pity)
If you're standing against the crowdbarrier 100-400mm is enough.

EHLW (Leeuwarden) and EHVK are the opposite, EHLW has a better sunlight in de morning and midday for photoshoots.

Volkel mostly against the sun?! Volkel has RWY06 and 24, so you'll have the sun in your neck till at least 1600lt. during summertime!! So no problem with "facing the sun" pictures during the flying display's!!

Anybody able to provide information of local camping sites near Volkel AFB. Also what is spotting / photography like from outside the base, thinking of the arrival day and flying display from outside.

:)do you think they will actually fly the MQ-9 reaper to the Netherlands ??for the show or do you recon it will be in the back of a c-130 or c-17??

It's already at Eindhoven; it arrived by C-130H-30, G-273 from the Netherlands Air Force!
