RDAF Airshow 9th June 2024 at Aalborg

I am looking to do this show on 9th June.
Living in lincs,I'm planning on flying
KLM Hummberside - Amsterdam - Aalborg.
I see it's reported that the spotters day is Sat 8th,but only 200 places
Has anyone been before
Is it any good and any tips

Cosford on the same weekend was never going to cut it

Yes shame about the small number of spotter tickets for Saturday. We are planning on driving over from Jagel for the weekend. Does anyone know of any good south side locations outside as we are unlikely to get tickets for Saturday and some decent statics. Road 55 looks decent for 26 arrivals but if they are coming in the other way which seems more common then it looks like you need a boat as it doesnt look like you can get up the west side against the coast.

For runway 08 indeed, you’ll need a boat… 26 and the civil terminal are the only places from where you can see some of the action.

Thanks for confirming. What’s the terminal like. Is there an outdoor balcony or terrace or just through the windows. Looks a bit of a distance to the runway but maybe ok for practise displays????

You can look through the windows of the first floor. But I have no clue on how you can view the displays. I would gamble on the runway 26 side, and maybe move on if the view from there isn’t good.
I have no experience from outside so cant really help with that

For at kunne prioritere den operative opgaveløsning har vi truffet beslutningen om at udsætte Danish Air Show til 2025. Opbygningen og den operative drift er vores vigtigste fokusområder og ud fra et helhedsbillede, har vi set os nødsaget til at vælge Danish Air Show fra i 2024.

Det er vi naturligvis kede af, da det er en dag, vi altid ser frem til, hvor vi med stolthed viser vores arbejdsplads frem. Vi håber og tror på forståelse fra alle og ser frem til 15. juni 2025 at byde velkommen til Danish Air Show og Flyvevåbnets 75 års jubilæum.

In order to prioritize operational tasks, we have made the decision to postpone the Danish Air Show to 2025. Building and maintaining operational capabilities are our main focus areas, and from a broader perspective, we have found it necessary to defer the Danish Air Show to 2024.

Naturally, we are sad about this decision, as it is a day we always look forward to, where we proudly showcase our workplace. We hope for and believe in understanding from everyone and look forward to welcoming you to the Danish Air Show and the 75th anniversary of the Air Force on June 15, 2025.

Hi Pete

I went to the show at BBU in 2017 & it was one of the best shows I've ever been to. Flying started about 1000 & was almost continuous until 8pm with lots of explosions & later flares & flying at dusk

Been there, done that (twice). It’s a great event, indeed with great fireworks. Definitely a third time on the program.

Pete,
Did the show in 2017. Going back this year - STD-OTP-STD Thurs/Fri & staying at the Phoenicia Grand 15mins walk from the gate. Buses are good and taxis are reasonably priced, but airport cabbies will try and rip you off...
Take plenty of water - you are standing on concrete all day.
