Weather for Wednesday’s event was superb, Thursday fine, so for a first visit I couldn’t have asked for more.

The helicopters, save where noted, were not displayed but were support, ferrying people and goods up the mountain. They flew from Meiringen.
All serials from back of camera. My only doubt is Pat Suisse J-3088, which looks more like 3083 on the 20th.
Highly recommend, even allowing for the four and a half hours it took to get down on the first day using the chairlift. Walking proved to be much quicker!

Re: AXALP 2022
My thoughts on Axalp . for what its worth
I did AXALP lasty year ( 2022 ) with 2x friends - and yes we skipped the chairlift on the way back and just walked back down to the resort. An amazing experience , hell of a climb up and I would say Axalp is certainly a once in a lifetime event , but after attending I'm not sure I would be motivated enough to go every year.
I will defo go again at some point, but I would recommend if you do go that you go to some of the other bases nearby - we went to Payerne airbase and Meirengen airbase for takeoffs and landings and it's amazing how close you can get there.
