German Airshows

Hi all, I now have a job in Germany ( Frankfurt ) can anyone recommend any good Airshows to go to, it would be rude not to!

Hi Steph,
on 24 August there is an open day at Laag AB - see link: http://www.airshow-laage.com but that's quite some way from Frankfurt. Other than that, and if you are speaking of military airshows there isn't much. Oh yes, there's the Spotters Day at Jagel AB during the NATO Tiger Meet in June but no details are known yet.But of course there's thhe RNLAF Open Dagen at Gilze-Rijn in The Netherlands and I think the Belgiums will have their air show at Kleine Brogel in September. MAybe that'll help.

The French Mirage 2000D base at Nancy is not too far from Frankfurt. They have a show on July 6th.

Anything in the North of Germany? Have connections North of Hamburg, anything in that part? Shame the Sea Kings have left Holteneau.

Nancy is about 320km South of Frankfurt. :-)

There's the NATO Tiger Meet at Jagel AB in June this year and they will have two spotter days in June according to the NATO Tigers Association http://www.natotigers.org/tigernews/ind ... newsID=202
That base is North of Hamburg. Apart from that, there will be an air show at Karup AB, Denmark which is about a 2 1/2 hrs drive from Jagel AB the same weekend around the spotter days at Jagel. That might be another option.

@ keldsyke - Belgian and Dutch air shows are usually quite good and the Dutch Air Shows are free to get in. Gilze-Rijn will host this year's Dutch Air Show... that might be another option as well. Or, Kleine Brogel in Belgium.
