Re: NATO Tiger Meet 2026 - Araxos, Greece
Interesting with Iniochos usually around April/May time. Wonder if that will move? Be great to sample a new base though. Fingers crossed it’s as well organised as the events at Andrivida (and the kebabs are as nice!).
Re: NATO Tiger Meet 2026 - Araxos, Greece
Araxos is North /South runway & most likely the Spotters Area will be on the western side! So if anything like the Andravida/Iniochos event earlier this year, we can write-off the morning against the Sun?
Access & opportunities outside the wire are limited & most definitely monitored! Not a great base for us to linger about at imo!

4Aviation have the dates as 3rd to 16th May
Re: NATO Tiger Meet 2026 - Araxos, Greece
Iniochos is in early March and the dates that 4Aviation have for Tiger Meet look to be correct too. The Valley is gonna be buzzin'!

Re: NATO Tiger Meet 2026 - Araxos, Greece
Google Earth shows Araxos to have around 50+ A-7 dumped/stored on the eastern side mostly at the eastern end of the long taxiway leading to the civi terminal at it's western end. Anybody know if these would be visible on the spotters day? Scramble airfield guide has this area as accessible from the outside via a farm track (spots 3 and 4 on Scramble guide) but not sure that would be a good idea (unless anyone has previous experience of this area). Any information most welcome. Thanks.
Re: NATO Tiger Meet 2026 - Araxos, Greece
The boneyard with the A-7s is not visible from the spotters area. During NTM22 in Araxos, the spotters area was at the intersection of the runway and taxiway, from the side of the civil terminal, I believe we will be on the same spot.
Getting around the base to take photos inside the base is prohibited and I will add "quite dangerous", it is recommended to avoid it, no need to get involved with unnecessary problems.

.....and there appeared to be an earth mound blocking the view of the many A-7s & Starfighters rotting away in said eastern side when I braved the strawberry farmers last year, or I was given incorrect coords.

I concur with this! If you park the car a little further away & walk to the point where you can see the jets you become in full view of Security!dotwatcher01 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 22, 2025 12:56 pm.....and there appeared to be an earth mound blocking the view of the many A-7s & Starfighters rotting away in said eastern side when I braved the strawberry farmers last year, or I was given incorrect coords.
The track (extremely difficult undulations even for a Rental!) is right by the fence at that point.

Not to mention the vegetation!dotwatcher01 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 22, 2025 12:56 pm.....and there appeared to be an earth mound blocking the view of the many A-7s & Starfighters rotting away in said eastern side when I braved the strawberry farmers last year, or I was given incorrect coords.
